Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients (makes 12)

100g butter or margarine, 100g caster sugar, 1 egg, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essence, 175g plain flour, 175g chocolate chips
Method
1. Turn on the oven to 180c/350f and grease two baking sheets with butter or margarine
2. Put the 100g of butter or margarine and sugar into a large bowl. Beat it until it is light and creamy
3. Break the egg into a small bowl and beat it well. Stir in the vanilla essence and add the mixture to the large bowl
4. Sift the flour into the large bowl and stir well to make a smooth mixture. Stir in 100g of chocolate chips
5.Lay them out in 12 heaped tablespoons on a baking sheet
6. Flatten each cookie slightly and sprinkle the top of each one with the rest of the chocolate chips
7.Bake for 10-15 mintues until they are golden brown and slightly soft in the middle
8.Leave to cool and then enjoy!
